The curriculum is 120 classroom hours, and focuses on the following topics: computer basics, Microsoft Office applications, internet & email, human relations, telephone techniques, resume building, interviewing skills, financial services training, and customer service skills. There are no eligibility requirements needed to participate in this classroom, but individuals are required to participate in an orientation, including a short assessment of skills prior to being accepted into the course. Computer and Customer Service Training is offered at the following locations:

SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICE EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM:  The SCSEP program serves people over 55 with a priority for veterans and those over 60.  Participants must earn less than 125% of the Federal Poverty Level.  Participants are offered a physical exam at no cost. Participants can engage in paid hard skill training, if needed.  Participants are placed in a non profit or government agency to complete a community service assignment. The “host agency” provides an opportunity for the participant to learn and practice new work skills. Learning goals are set and focus on skills that will transfer to the competitive labor market.  Participants are paid minimum wage for training and community service assignment hours.  Participants can participate in training for 20 hours per week.  The goal of SCSEP is to move 30 percent of the participants in to unsubsidized community based employment each year.

These services are available to individuals in Maricopa and Yuma Counties.
